Zoo Leipzig Starts with Third Development Phase of Master Plan
The official groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new enclosure for the Amur leopards at Zoo Leipzig will herald the third and last phase of the so-called “Zoo of the Future”. As we reported in EAP 6/2012 Zoo Leipzig, celebrating its 135th anniversary this year, will see the transformation of old animal enclosures into modern, natural environments. The new enclosure for the endangered Amur leopards is being built in the zoo’s “Asian” area. (eap)
