motiongate™ Dubai Reveals Further Attraction Plans
Following the announcement that US-based attraction manufacturer S&S Worldwide will build a drop tower for motiongate™ Dubai amusement park (cf. EAP News from July 20, 2015), which is currently under construction and expected to open in October next year, details concerning further attractions for the park have recently been revealed.
According to Dubai Parks & Resorts, operator of motiongate™ Dubai, the approximately 177,000 square meter park will include three different areas offering a total of 27 attractions inspired by thirteen Hollywood movies. The “Sony Studios Zone” will feature the main characters of e.g. “Ghostbusters” or “The Green Hornet”. As special highlight the area will offer the seven-minute indoor ride “Hotel Transylvania” for kids. Twelve rides based on movies like “Kund Fu Panda” or “Madagascar” will be located in the “DreamWorks Zone”. The third area is dedicated to Lionsgate movies like “Hunger Games” or “Step Up”. It will include a theatre offering space for up to 1,000 visitors. “There’s a story to tell in every ride. When you pick a particular movie, it has to blend in with the rest of the park. Hence we’ve got the Lionsgate Zone that’s geared more to the teenagers and tweens, Sony has a darker feel, and then there are the more fun family rides with DreamWorks”, Stanford Pinto, Dubai Parks & Resort’s CEO, explains.
