Germany: First Saxony Location Planned for Karls Erlebnis-Dorf – City Council Approves Sale of Required Land
The city council of the Saxon town of Döbeln has cleared the way for plans to build a Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in the region. During a meeting that took place yesterday, the sale of the required land was approved. This means that the large-scale project, which envisages the construction of a “Karls-typical”, family-oriented shopping and adventure world, has now made a decisive step further. The Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Döbeln would be the first location in the federal state of Saxony and the sixth in total, alongside the facilities on the Baltic Sea and in Elstal (near Berlin).
Sven Liebhauser, Lord Mayor of the town of Döbeln, is welcoming the construction project: “We are open-minded about a possible settlement. In recent weeks, we have had very pleasant talks with the owner of the company. Döbeln can be reached by about three million people within an hour’s drive. […] The required land is owned by the town. We are pleased that we were able to make the company an interesting offer. The road to a settlement is still long, but a good start has been made.”
Together with Robert Dahl, who together with his family created the Karls Erlebnis-Dorf facilities and runs them with a lot of passion besides his strawberry cultivation business, the responsible persons of the town of Döbeln now start the necessary planning preparations. An urban development contract is to be concluded in order to implement the planned concept. (eap)
