“Illumination’s Minion Land” Opens at Universal Studios Singapore

(eap) Since this past weekend, visitors to Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) have been able to discover the new theme world “Illumination’s Minion Land” with a range of new attractions. This means that the cheeky, clumsy yellow characters from the popular children’s film series “Despicable Me” can now be experienced in all Universal theme parks worldwide.
Three areas are part of the new area at Universal Studios Singapore: “Minion Marketplace”, “Gru’s Neighborhood” and “Super Silly Fun Land” (c.f. EAP News of 30 July 2025). Exclusively at Universal Studios Singapore, there is now the “Buggie Boogie” carousel, which has been given a dance party theme, and the “Super Hungry Food Stand” F&B kiosk, which is an oversized version of the waterfront snack stand from “Despicable Me”. The new theme world was developed by Universal Creative in collaboration with the filmmakers from Illumination and RWS.

Minion Land is set to become one of Singapore's key tourism attractions and is part of a series of upcoming, enhanced visitor experiences at RWS. These include new signature dining spots, a transformed lifestyle Forum, a reimagined boutique luxury hotel, the much-anticipated launch of Singapore Oceanarium and Research Learning Centre, and a brand-new waterfront lifestyle development, among others,” said Mr. Tan Hee Teck, CEO, RWS.
