(eap) A new water playground has opened at LEGOLAND® Deutschland Resort in the „Land der Piraten“ (Engl.: “Land of Pirates”) themed area. Right next to the attraction „Käpt’n Nicks Piratenschlacht“ (Engl.: “Captain Nick’s Pirate Battle”), little fun-seekers will find a 100 square meter area where over 1,000 water jets create randomly spraying water fountains. These form different patterns again and again, transforming the playground into an exciting water labyrinth. This “PlayFountain” was supplied by the same-named division of the Ice-World company. Surrounded by LEGO® pirate flags, treasures and figures, visitors can jump through the fountains and engage in water battles.

The water required for the attraction comes from the park’s own water network and is continuously reused. Sustainability was also considered when choosing the materials. Both the floor and the supporting structure are made of recyclable aluminium.

“The environmentally friendly design of our new attraction was very important to us. The ‘Pirate Water Fun’ should not only be a place full of adventure, but also a role model in terms of sustainability – and we have absolutely succeeded,” says Frank Schmid, Director Technical Service at Legoland Deutschland Resort. “Thanks to the integrated energy storage system, the attraction only consumes as much energy as a standard refrigerator. The Legoland summer can come.” ■
