“Titanic: An Immersive Journey” Now in Germany
(eap) The tragic history of the most famous passenger ship of all time can now be experienced in a special way in Cologne. The experiential exhibition “Titanic: Eine immersive Reise” (Titanic: An Immersive Journey) uses 360-degree projections with detailed room reproductions, 300 curated artefacts and a virtual reality (VR) application to bring the Titanic, its sinking and the interwoven human fates to life. Following its world premiere in Milan (Italy) and Atlanta (USA), the exhibition is now also making a guest appearance in Germany for the first time. The experience exhibition is being presented here by the live entertainment organizer COFO Entertainment. It was produced by the company Exhibition Hub in cooperation with White Star Memories and is supported by the German Titanic Association 1997 e.V. as official partner.
Equipped with a boarding card, visitors to the experience embark on a voyage of discovery into the ship as passengers and, with the help of the exhibits and interactive media elements, can relive the days at sea and the fateful last night on the Titanic. The exhibits include items from the Titanic and her sister ships Olympic and Britannic, among others. Towards the end of the exhibition, visitors can book a twelve-minute VR experience for an additional charge, which takes them on a virtual journey to the wreck of the Titanic.
In Germany, the exhibition will next come to Hamburg. From April 17, the Titanic will come to life in a specially designed event hall in the city hall district. Furthermore, another exhibition site is also planned for Munich. ■
