8th EWA Congress: European Leisure and Waterpark Professionals Meet Up at Europa-Park

As the first major attendance event oft he industry association since the beginning of the pandemic, the 8th EWA Congress of the European Waterpark Association has been taking place since yesterday (and until 26 April) at the Europa-Park Resort in Rust. Around 170 participants, mainly professionals from the European waterpark and leisure industry, have come together to discuss the main topic “Future Perspectives of the European Waterpark Business“. EWA President Markus Achleitner welcomed the participants yesterday evening during a “get together“ in the Rulantica Water World.

Jürgen Mack (Europa-Park co-owner) welcomed everyone today to kick-off the event, before Rulantica Director Michael Kreft von Byern gave a comprehensive insight into the behind-the-scenes world of the indoor water park, which opened in autumn 2019, in his presentation. Dr Klaus Batz, Managing Director of the EWA, dedicated his keynote speech to the topic of “Green Waterparks“. Further lectures and panel discussions about different topics will be offered in the further course of the event. (eap)
