Chimelong Water Park Launches Expansion with New Large Slides

(eap) Since last weekend, visitors to Chimelong Water Park in Guangzhou (China) have been able to enjoy two new large water slides, which now complement the destination’s extensive range of attractions. The two new features are the world’s first “Launched HydroMAGNETIC LIM Mammoth Coaster” with the first “FlyingSAUCER60” element in Asia, and the world’s first “HIVE 35” family slide (feat. a “Double TORNADO 60”) – both supplied by Canadian manufacturer ProSlide Technology.
The HIVETM was presented as a new type of water slide model just a few months ago at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando (read also our trade show report in EAP 1/2025). The characteristic helix-like 360-degree curves are visually reminiscent of a beehive, which gave the product its name. The slide is used with raft boats for several people, which enables a high throughput. Another HIVE slide experience – as a smaller installation – will be offered at the Zoombezi Bay water park in Powell (Ohio, USA) from this summer. ■
