Alton Towers Hosts “Oktoberfest” Event
(eap) Tomorrow, September 7, the seasonal “Oktoberfest” event days kick off at the British Alton Towers theme park resort, operated by Merlin Entertainments. Until September 29, the resort will be transformed into a Bavarian “wonderland” with themed entertainment and dining options for the whole family. The festivities continue every day for an hour after the closing of rides and attractions, so that families can enjoy a pretzel and a drink before heading home after an action-packed day at the amusement park. New this year is a menu inspired by regional dishes, including a grill platter with meatballs, potatoes, cheese spaetzle and various types of pretzel. The food offer is complemented by German beers, a “Radler Cocktail” (beer mix cocktail) and a new Coca-Cola Freestyle flavour (“Alton Oompah”).
The Oktoberfest entertainment line-up also includes various shows such as the “Bierkeller Oompah Show” with accordionist Robert Burton, the music party “The Party Pilots”, the “Oktoberfest Sing-along” and “The Oomparty Band” as well as the “Lebhaft Tanzen Show” with traditional Bavarian dresses and an Oktoberfest soundtrack.
After the Oktoberfest in September, the next event will follow immediately – from October 11, the “Scarefest” returns for Halloween with various scare attractions. ■
