AquaMagis Plettenberg to Launch New “ShootingSTAR“ Slide
(eap) The Aquamagis adventure pool in Plettenberg (Germany) is known among slide fans for its special selection of slides, including stand-up and wind slides. As part of the “AquaMagis Goes Green” sustainability project, the pool’s existing slides have recently been redesigned or replaced and the slide tower has been refurbished and given a new space theme (more on this in EAP 3/2024, p. 64 ff.). The new “ShootingSTAR” attraction announced for 2025 also fits in with this theming. This will be a 22-metre-high kamikaze slide – making it the highest outdoor bodyslide in Germany, according to the water park. It will be supplied by the Swiss slide manufacturer Klarer Freizeitanlagen.
Before the guests plunge into the “galactic slide adventure”, they will be able to enjoy a view over the surrounding Sauerland landscape. But even during the slide experience itself, guests are granted a brief glimpse of the surrounding region. The course of the slide leads through a transparent tube section before the sliders shoot through a striking star and then towards the ground over 15 metres with a maximum gradient of 120 percent. The 70-metre-long track promises speeds of up to 40 km/h. ShootingSTAR is expected to be open to visitors aged twelve and over. Completion is planned for the beginning of April 2025.
A new water playground called “Turtle Bay” is scheduled to open this year on 26 December. Four new slides, a turtle-themed play structure and play elements such as fountains and a tipping bucket will be waiting here for children up to the age of twelve. ■
