Austria: Curative Spa Bad Waltersdorf Has Ambitious Plans for 2007

The four-star “Quellenhotel” (lit.: mineral spring hotel) is the heart of the Bad Waltersdorf health resort and has 350 beds. 370,000 people visited the Bad Waltersdorf curative spa and its Quellenhotel in 2006. The average duration of people’s stay at the hotel was 3.5 days and thus lies clearly higher than the mean average for Austria. For the first time ever, guest satisfaction also topped 95 per cent. “All of these factors have demonstrated the tremendous importance of our hotel guests. In 2007 our main focus will therefore be on precisely these visitors: we are investing over 3.5 million euros and will create a health area for the hotel itself, the so-called “Quellenoase” (spring oasis), as Gernot Deutsch, Managing Director of the health spa, explained the facility’s goals for 2007 during a press conference in Vienna. At the centre of the Quellenoase is a natural swimming pond. The spa director plans on increasing the quality of people’s stay and the relaxation factor at Bad Waltersdorf through the new Quellenoase. (eap)
