Austria: Therme Wien Welcomes Five Millionth Visitor

Since its opening in autumn 2010 (c.f. EAP, issue 6/10), Therme Wien spa facility, which is operated by VAMED Vitality World, has seen ongoing successes in its operation – recently, the destination welcomed its five millionth visitor. Its success relies on ongoing optimizations of its operation and on developing customized offers for the urban target group.

Edmund Friedl, CEO of Therme Wien, is proud of this achievement: “Our diverse offer is widely accepted by guests and we can be proud of this. We work continuously on enhancing our portfolio and services. Consequent development of new products and offers is one of the main pillars of long-term planning. Also, we pay high attention to the continuing education of our employees who care for our visitors day after day,” said Friedl.

The comprehensive offer includes a cave pool for relaxation seekers, as well as a sparkling pool, Finnish sauna facilities, steam baths and massage loungers. Those looking for adventure can try out the varied range of slides – for younger bathing guests Therme Wien offers water playgrounds and for “bookworms” it provides Austria’s first thermal library. As of summer this year, a new underground line will offer a direct connection from Vienna city center to Therme Wien, saving time for the stay. (eap)
