Belgium: Plopsaland De Panne to Invest 2.5 Million Euros in Redesign of Themed Area

Plopsaland De Panne, the Belgian theme park belonging to the Belgian Plopsa Group, will invest a total of 2.5 million euros in the redesign of its “Ketnetzone” in the upcoming season, including the two existing attractions, “Viktors Race” (a Zierer rollercoaster) and the boat ride “Kaatje zoekt Eendje”. In the future, the roller coaster will be thematically based on the Belgian music youth series “#LikeMe” and, as “#LikeMe Coaster”, will increasingly appeal to young people. The boat ride will be dedicated to the junior program “Tik Tak” of the Belgian children and youth channel Ketnet and will be redesigned accordingly.

“The idea to bring to life #LikeMe with its own attraction in the park is a logical consequence of the enormous popularity of the series within our target group. With #LikeMe we aim at a slightly older audience, while with Tik Tak we rather appeal to the little ones. That way there is something for everyone in the renewed Ketnet zone. We’re really pleased that we’ve been able to achieve this together with Ketnet and Fabric Magic,” says Steve Van den Kerkhof, CEO of the Plopsa Group.

The official opening of the re-themed area at Plopsaland De Panne is scheduled for 26 May. (eap)
