Bilaj Al Jazayer Beachfront to Transform Bahrain's Southwest Coast into Attractive Tourist Region
The planned mixed-use development Bilaj Al Jazayer Beachfront area on Bahrain’s Southwest coast is expected to grow into a popular tourist destination of the region in the coming years. For this reason, numerous restaurants and cafés, hotels, entertainment and leisure facilities, and also residential living are planned to be built in a phased development. In addition, there will be a promenade along the three-kilometer-long public beach – which can already be accessed – with an extensive shopping offer for a special waterfront experience. The entire area will then cover an area of around 133 hectares in the future.
In the first phase, the promenade including its gastronomy offers will be created as well as two hotels for which the real estate development company Edamah has concluded a contract with the Minor Hotels Group – the two multi-star hotels “Avani” and “Tivoli” will be constructed by 2024. In the second development phase, a commercial marina, residential space and retail will be created. For the comprehensive master planning, renowned London-based architecture office Foster + Partners have been contracted. (eap)
