Bosnia-Herzegovina: Olympic Center Jahorina Adds Three New Family Attractions
The Olympic Center Jahorina – a popular winter sports destination in Bosnia-Herzegovina located about an hour’s drive south of Sarajevo – recently opened three new Sunkid attractions in order to appeal to families with a varied range of leisure activities also during the summer months. Since July this year, young guests have been able to experience the new “Loopster“, “Tower“ and “Skydive“ rides from the Austrian manufacturer’s portfolio.
The Loopster is equipped with eight orange- and turquoise-colored cabins, which gently glide in circles or turn loops. Directly next to it, another classic family ride was realized in the form of the Sunkid Tower: Guests take a seat in a double seat and pull themselves up on a rope while the tower rotates around its axis. When the guests take the lift up to the Olympic Center’s ski area, the new Skydive attraction is now also available there, inviting to take a child-friendly “flight“ over the reservoir.
The Olympic Center Jahorina is frequently expanding its range of summer attractions, in order to permanently establish itself as a 365-day-operation. In 2018, a Sunkid Xraycer was opened in the ski resort, last year a summer toboggan run was added with the Mountain Coaster. Besides the expansion of winter sport destinations by the addition of all-weather family rides and attractions, ski resort operators are increasingly focusing on combining their offerings with water facilities, too – read more about this current trend in our upcoming Nov/Dec magazine issue.
