Buenos Aires / Argentina: First Football Themed Hotel Worldwide Opened
The new 5-star-luxury-hotel “Hotel Boca”, designed by renowned architect Carlos Ott, was opened this spring in Argentina’s capital city of Buenos Aires. It is the first football themed hotel of the world and is dedicated to Argentina’s most famous football club “Boca Juniors”, the team for which football legend Diego Maradona played once. The design of the 85-room-hotel reflects the colors of the club – yellow and blue – and other elements like pictures of famous players on the room doors or paintings of the club’s stadium “La Bombonera” (Engl.: the Chocolate Box) on the walls represent the theming as well. Special offers enable real fans to book a full experience package including e.g. two tickets for a Boca Juniors match besides a one night accommodation, dinner and massage. Another package includes a t-shirt autographed by players. A wellness and spa area with swimming pool and sauna, a fitness center and a restaurant are also belonging to the 17-level hotel, which is part of the Design Suites hotel chain. Two floors of the hotel are reserved to the club’s players. (eap)
