(eap) Canada’s Wonderland theme park in Vaughan, Ontario (Canada), operated by Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, has announced a new roller coaster for 2025. With “AlpenFury”, Canada’s Wonderland is getting its 19th coaster, which, according to the park, will be the longest, highest and fastest Launch Coaster in Canada.

The course of the roller coaster, which is being manufactured by Premier Rides, will start with a launch that catapults the roller coaster train into the depths of “Wonder Mountain”. Afterwards, a second launch awaits the passengers, which shoots the train out of the mountain again. The coaster will reach a height of around 50 meters and a maximum speed of 115 km/h over a distance of one kilometre. Furthermore, AlpenFury will feature a total of nine inversions during its 1.2-minute ride. The attraction will have two trains, each offering space for up to 18 people.

“AlpenFury is a world-class attraction, and we’re excited for the unique thrills it will offer our guests,” says Phil Liggett, general manager at Canada’s Wonderland. “The combination of being blasted out of Wonder Mountain, and then racing through nine inversions one right after the other, is going to be an experience guests won’t soon forget.”

AlpenFury is set to become the new main attraction of the “Alpenfest” area, which will be officially designated a themed park area next year. ■
