(eap) Castle Taggenbrunn in Carinthia, Austria – owned by the entrepreneurial Riedl family since 2011 and opened to the public in 2019 after extensive renovations as part of the Taggenbrunn Festival – now offers its guests spectacular views and thrills with new attractions.

The grounds of the castle, located on a vineyard, and the event venue there are now accessible by a 55-meter-high panoramic elevator. Once at the top of the elevator, a bridge takes guests across to the castle grounds. This means of transportation was installed in order to be able to transport the many hundreds of guests who visit the festival every year to the event location more easily – previously this was done with the help of shuttle buses. “Now we can transport over 700 visitors from the large parking lot near the lift directly up the mountain in just under 30 minutes,” castle owner Alfred Riedl is happy to explain. Visitors can now also go down the mountain at high speeds on a 105-meter-long stainless-steel tube slide from Josef Wiegand GmbH, which is used with sliding mats.

Especially for the younger guests, there is now also a children’s playground, which in addition to the usual range of swings, climbing structures as well as a rope slide also offers five ground-level trampolines. ■
