Italy: New Rooftop Terrace Cable Car Offers Panoramic Views in the Dolomites

From St. Zyprian (municipality of Tiers, South Tyrol), the Carezza ski area has recently become accessible by a new cable car: A new Doppelmayr 60-person-cabin cable car with a rooftop terrace – the first rooftop terrace cable car in Italy and as such an attraction in itself – offers a panoramic ride through the picturesque mountain scenery, covering a difference in altitude of 644 metres. The inclined length of the new cable car – the stations of which were built into the landscape underground so that only the respective entrances and exits are visible – is 3.7 kilometres. One ride takes seven minutes, resulting in a total transport capacity of 400 pph. (eap)
