Denmark: Tivoli Gardens Lights Up Wintertime
In cooperation with the Copenhagen Light Festival, Denmark’s Tivoli Gardens will again light up its park grounds with winter lights for one month. Thousands of sustainable LED lights are built into beautiful light installations like Hans Christian Andersen’s “eleven wild swans“. Tivoli Lake will also be the spot where two themed laser shows (nordic mythology and “Tango Jalousie“) will be shown. More light installation will be located all over the park ground. In addition there will be an ice-skating rink with special effects as well as themed offerings for kids and a Tivoli Dining Week with traditional food specialities.
Tivoli’s Light Designer Jesper Kongshaug explains: “The blue shades of the winter theme add a new dimension to the February chill with their brittle, frozen lights that are Tivoli’s interpretation of Nordic winter. We use the latest LED technology to create the lightning in the Gardens. We also work with Denmak’s leading graphic artists and lightning artists […].“ During the special winter themed weeks from January 31st to February 23rd, 2020 all rides will be open. (eap)
