Disney Experiences Announces Key Leadership Appointments

(eap) Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro has announced the appointment of several member of his executive team to new leadership positions at Disneyland Resort, Shanghai Disney Resort and Disney Signature Experiences. Also, a new management position has been created, for major events integration.

“We have a deep bench of globally minded business leaders who bring the versatility needed to step into key roles across our diverse portfolio,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences. “These tenured leaders have extensive technical and operational expertise with strong insight and understanding of the guest experience, and possess qualities that promote innovation, creativity, and results.”

Josh D’Amaro announced the following strategic leadership changes: Ken Potrock, who has over 30 years of experience with Disney, will assume the newly created position of “President, The Walt Disney Company Major Events Integration”. In this role, Potrock will be responsible for developing comprehensive, cross-company plans to maximise the value of major sports, entertainment and tourism events – from the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles to the 250th anniversary of independence of the United States. Most recently, Potrock took over as President of Disneyland Resort in 2020 and led its successful reopening after the pandemic. He recently secured the approval of “DisneylandForward”, which opens expansion and investment opportunities to Disney in Anaheim for the next 40 years.

Thomas Mazloum has been appointed as the new President of Disneyland Resort. Under Mazloum’s leadership of Disney Signature Experiences, Disney Cruise Line secured investments and launched development plans to double its fleet size by 2031. Prior to joining Disney Cruise Line, Mazloum held various leadership positions at Walt Disney World, including overseeing Operations, Resorts, Transportation, ESPN Wide World of Sports, Club 33 and Disney Springs. Meanwhile, Andrew Bolstein has been promoted to the position of President & General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. Bolstein was part of the leadership team for the opening of Shanghai Disney Resort back in 2016 and worked hand-in-hand with the Imagineers as the park took shape. His 30-year career with Disney began at Walt Disney World and was followed by leadership positions in Hong Kong and Tokyo, as well as by a nearly 13 years tenure in Shanghai.

In turn, the former President and General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, Joe Schott, has been appointed President of Disney Signature Experiences (DSE). DSE is a division of Disney Experiences that offers family travel and leisure experiences beyond the theme parks, including Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Aulani – a Disney Resort & Spa, Adventures by Disney, Storyliving by Disney and more. Schott looks back at a 40-year career at Disney, most recently he led Shanghai Disney Resort as President and General Manager. Prior to his role in Shanghai, Schott oversaw operations at Disneyland Paris and was Executive Managing Director of Walt Disney Attractions Japan at Tokyo Disney Resort.

Transition to the new roles begin immediately. ■
