(eap) The “Disney Treasure”, the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, sets sail for the first time tomorrow from Port Canaveral, Florida (USA). The ship, which was built by the German Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, will sail on week-long voyages to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. The liner has a capacity of 4,000 passengers and 1,246 cabins.

The “Disney Treasure”, the sister ship of the “Disney Wish” (2022) and the “Disney Destiny” (Nov. 2025), draws on the stories of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars to offer guests familiar and new attractions inspired by their favourite Disney worlds on board. These include a Broadway-style “Moana” show, food offerings inspired by Pixar’s “Coco” and Marvel’s superheroes, water attractions such as wiegand.waterrides slides, a “Toy Story” water playground and other experiences for children of all ages, as well as new offerings such as lounges for adults, including the first ever inspired by the famous Disneyland attraction and film of the same name, “Haunted Mansion”.

Disney plans to add seven more ships to its fleet by 2031. These include the “Disney Destiny” and “Disney Adventure”, which are due to set sail at the end of 2025. The Disney cruise business is also set to conquer the Japanese market – in summer, Disney reached an agreement to this effect with the Japanese leisure and tourism company Oriental Land Co.
