Doug Stagner Joins SEVEN as Executive Director of Attractions
(eap) Doug Stagner, a familiar face in the leisure industry, has recently been named new Executive Director of Attractions at Saudi Entertainment Venture (SEVEN). Stagner has been working in the leisure industry for nearly four decades. Beginning his career path with a summer job in 1984 at SeaWorld San Diego, he spent 32 years with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in various leadership positions, among others. Also, he was an active member of IAAPA for many years, serving the association as Chief Operating Officer of Executive Vice President for Global Operations. Stagner left IAAPA in 2018 to become COO of Harves Global Entertainment. Most recently, he served as President for Grant’s Farm in St Louis, Missouri. Here, Stagner will continue to serve as a consultant for the Busch family ownership group.
As part of SEVEN, Doug Stagner is now overseeing the development and operation of 21 entertainment destinations in 14 cities in Saudi Arabia. A total of 13 billion US-dollar (approx. 11.85 billion euro) is being invested in the projects. Part of the investment is the recently announced new entertainment center in Almadinah. Construction work has begun here on an area of over 100,000 square meters. A 4,000-square-meter family entertainment center, a two-story e-kart track, as well as a jungle-themed Discovery Adventure Center and a Play-Doh entertainment center are to be built here. In addition, attractions familiar from other SEVEN entertainment destinations, such as an IMAX movie theatre, bowling alley, wellness center and various retail and dining options, will be represented. ■
