England: New “The Wave“ Indoor Waterpark Opens Today
Estimated at a total investment sum of 36.7 million GBP (approx. 42 million EUR), England’s new The Wave indoor waterpark, which is located in the heart of the city of Coventry, officially opens its doors today. The offer for visitors includes thrill and high-speed slides, a lazy river and a wave pool as well as water play areas for kids. The Coventry City Council is the investor behind this new recreational pool, with financial support from Sport England (a public organization of the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport).
The new and barrier-free waterpark is complemented by a new fitness center and the new Mana Spa wellness facility, which both started operation in July this year. Operator of the whole complex is Coventry-based CV Life company (formerly: Coventry Sports Foundation).
For their work on the new waterpark in the heart of England, a number of involved companies was recently honored with a “Leading Edge Award” presented by the World Waterpark Association (cf. EAP News of 21st Oct 2019).
