France: More Changes at Disneyland Paris – Disney Village to Get a New Look
On 6 March, Disneyland Paris kicked off its 30th anniversary season, which is packed with new attractions for visitors this year, including the long-awaited opening of the “Avengers Campus“ (read more about the new attractions in Paris in EAP 5/21 and our latest Park Report in EAP 2/22). Now, the only European Disney destination announced further changes within the resort. The “Disney Village“ retail and entertainment complex will receive a phased makeover in the coming years, which will begin by the end of 2022. The changes include the design of a lakefront park, a promenade, improved pedestrian walkways, new facades, relaxing terraces an patios.
New restaurants and shops will also be added to the area‘s offerings. One of the new gastronomic concepts will be “Rosalie“, a French brasserie that will replace “Café Mickey“ and for which a partnership was entered with Groupe Bertrand, which operates several brasseries in Paris. Up to 500 guests will be seated here on two levels as of 2023. In addition to table service, there will also be the option of ordering small items such as sandwiches, salads or sweet pastries at a counter.
“Our plan to transform Disney Village is yet another example of how we continue to reimagine Disneyland Paris at the resort level, notably with our major expansion plan in progress at Walt Disney Studios Park. We’re very excited to bring new iconic and timeless concepts to the district that will appeal to a new generation of guests, whether they visit from our nearby resort hotels or from the local area. We can’t wait for our guests to be surprised and delighted by what we have in store,” said Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris. (eap)
