French Theme Parks Can Be Visited Again without Proof of Vaccination, Test and Mask

For the 2022 season, the family attraction “Les Montgolfières” has undergone a complete renovation (picture of the previous state). In May, new gondolas from Zamperla will arrive at the park.

On Monday (14 March), restrictions on public life related to Covid were largely lifted in France, which is no longer a high-risk area. For example, the obligation to present the so-called “pass vaccinal” (proof of vaccination or certificate of recovery) and the need to wear a face mask now only applies in health care, elderly care, nursing facilities and similarly sensitive areas, as well as in local and long-distance public transport. This means that visiting stores, restaurants and hotels, but especially cultural and leisure facilities, is now possible again entirely without a vaccination certificate and also without a proof of testing. The mask requirement in amusement parks has already been eliminated since 2 March. In addition, all contact restrictions in the country have been lifted.

While Futuroscope near Poitiers in the west of the country has already been open again since early February, Disneyland Paris started into its 30th anniversary season on 6 March. At Nigloland, located in the eastern part of France between Reims and Dijon, the season begins on 9 April. On the occasion of its 35th anniversary, the amusement park has renovated some of its attractions, such as “Les Hérissons de la Forêt magique” and “Les Montgolfières”.

By the way, in Germany, further relaxations of Corona measures will be implemented starting 20 March, which will eliminate nationwide most of the restrictions still in force. However, some federal states have already announced that they intend to make use of the transitional period provided and implement the planned relaxations at a later date. The mask requirement will be retained in Germany in indoor areas and on public transport, as are the distance rule, general hygiene requirements and testing obligations in certain sensitive areas. In other parts of Europe as well, in countries such as Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, numerous Covid measures such as the obligation to provide proof and to wear masks have recently been eliminated (with exceptions like in France).
