GB: Mote Park Outdoor Adventure Opens Sky Trail
The Mote Park Outdoor Adventure is a leisure and recreational park located in Maidstone (county of Kent) in Southeast England, owned by the Maidstone Borough Council and operated by Serco Leisure Operating Ltd.. The destination welcomes over one million visitors per year and offers a range of activities, including Segway tours and a dinosaur-themed crazy golf course. In order to further diversify the existing visitor offer, Maidstone Borough Council decided to add a high ropes course and climbing tower attraction, which were both opened recently.
Following the inauguration of a new playground earlier this year for the younger park visitors, adults can now also enjoy new activities at the park. The high ropes course – a “Sky Trail” supplied by Innovative Leisure – features two levels with a number of different obstacles, running above the crazy golf course. Up to 47 persons can climb on the Sky Trail at the same time. Next to it, a new, ten-meter high climbing tower (also from Innovative Leisure) invites up to four climbers at a time to push themselves to reach the top, supported by hydraulic auto belays.
"The Sky Trail high ropes experience is exactly what we wanted in this area to bring it to life. It complements the other play offers and appeals to a wide range of age groups [...]," comments Fran Wallis, Local Economy Project Officer for Maidstone Borough Council. Next year, the Mote Park Outdoor Adventure will see the opening of a new visitor center and a café. (eap)
