General Refurbishment of Phönix-Bad in Ottobrunn Near Munich

The two water slides start in the iconic slide tower of the Phoenix pool. The blue slide is currently being replaced by a new, energy-saving installation.

(eap) The Phönix-Bad in the municipality of Ottobrunn, located southeast of Munich, is currently undergoing a general renovation, which will continue up to and including Sunday (25 June). Every two years, extensive repair and maintenance work takes place here to bring the bathing facility up to date and optimize it for operation. This year’s renovation work includes the modernization of the building services, but measures visible to visitors are also being implemented, such as a new coat of paint in the pool area and new furnishing for three saunas. The highlight of the refurbishment this time is the creation of a new waterslide in the adventure pool area, which will be equipped with spectacular LED lighting effects and a timing system. The new, nearly 100-meter-long GRP tube slide from Aquarena replaces one of the two existing slides and will receive an insulating full enclosure for greater energy efficiency. The planned new cashier register system, including the introduction of a new online store with Print@Home voucher function, will be delayed until 2024 due to supply bottlenecks.

As of next Monday (26 June), guests will once again be able to make full use of the facilities at the Phönix-Bad pool, which is operated by Sportpark Ottobrunn GmbH (a privately-owned company of the municipality). ■
