All-New Falkensteiner Hotel Montafon Focuses on Families & Sustainability

The five-star Falkensteiner Hotel Montafon in Austria, which opened in mid-December, is aimed primarily at families and wants to set standards in the area of sustainability. Already before its opening the hotel was distinguished as climate-neutral enterprise, among other things sustainable construction methods and a sustainable energy supply express this. As the first climate-neutral hotel in the Falkensteiner Group (see also our report on the Falkensteiner Resort Lido in EAP 4/2022) and a partner in the “Turn2Zero” initiative, the company has committed itself to implementing at least one reduction or climate protection measure each year in order to reduce its carbon footprint. Specifically, those emissions that cannot be reduced through measures are to be offset through investments in high-quality and transparent climate protection projects (reforestation, ecological waste management and solar energy). The Falkensteiner Hotel is also part of the “Leading Hotels of the World”, a worldwide alliance of luxury hotels, resorts and spas. The Norwegian architectural collective Snøhetta was responsible for the design concept of the hotel’s structures and exterior architecture.

© © Falkensteiner Hotel Montafon The hotel in Latschau, above Tschagguns (Vorarlberg) offers a total of 123 rooms and suites with balconies, a gym, an indoor climbing wall, a soft play area for kids called “Falky Land”, and large outdoor areas with modern play and motor skills elements. Under the name “Aquapura Organic SPA”, a 1,400-square-meter wellness and water world with exclusive spa and treatment offers opens up to hotel guests. In a separate family and an adult-only spa area, there is room for both families with children and adults without children to spend relaxing hours. The water world features an indoor-outdoor pool, a 63-meter-long tube slide with light effects, a wave slide and a spray park. The slide facility was supplied by Aquarena. Thanks to its location directly on the skiing, hiking and adventure mountain Golm, the hotel offers its guests many opportunities for an active vacation combined with wellness, both in summer and winter.
