Germany: "Star Trek – Operation Enterprise" at Movie Park Germany
After the recent opening of its latest walk through attraction “The Walking Dead Breakout” (cf. EAP news from July 6th, 2016), Movie Park Germany – a theme park belonging to the Spanish operator group Parques Reunidos – already announced a new project to be inaugurated in 2017. In the coming year, the park’s silhouette will be significantly changed by a new superlative-rollercoaster, which will be its second highest building. As the world’s first rollercoaster, the planned attraction receives the Star TrekTM movie license. With “Star TrekTM: Operation Enterprise”, Movie Park Germany is going to bring its offer for visitors to higher levels. “We are very thrilled and proud that we agreed upon a cooperation with the US licensor CBS Consumer Products Inc. In this way, we will set new standards as Germany’s largest movie and theme park,” said CEO Thorsten Backhaus. Star TrekTM is enthusing people for more than 50 years with well-known characters such as Captain Kirk, Mister Spock or Captain Picard.
For the new ride’s manufacture the park is also looking for quality, Backhaus ads: “We could win the company Mack Rides for the realization of this important project, as Germany’s largest manufacturer of amusement park rides and attractions.” The ride’s construction is also pleasing for the internationally operating company and Mack Rides’ CEO Christian Freiherr von Elverfeldt: “In relation to our average export rate of more than 90 percent we are very enthusiastic to build such a ride in Germany.”
The new ride, a launch coaster, will be located directly at the park’s entrance und will count with an element in its trail, “which is unique within Europe and will definitely surprise our visitors,” reveals Thorsten Backhaus a first detail on the attraction. The construction works are scheduled to begin within the upcoming weeks. (eap)
