Germany: Bavaria Filmstadt Launches “Hologate Arena” VR Attraction

As of this month, in addition to the film tour, a 4D cinema and the Filmstadt Atelier, virtual worlds can also be experienced at Bavaria Filmstadt in the new “Hologate Arena” from Munich-based VR systems provider Hologate, which was implemented in the building of a former McDonald’s restaurant. The new offering is aimed at single players or teams of up to four people, who can choose from the available game titles “Angry Birds”, “Cold Clash”, “Groove Guardians”, “Captain Cook” (as of six years and older) and “Zombyte 2.0” (min 16 years old). Equipped with a VR headset, technology vest and controllers, guests immerse themselves in the respective virtual world and experience five-minute adventures. The short-game offering is to be expanded in the future with additional titles – including seasonal game content, e.g., for Halloween. Hologate arenas can be found at numerous locations around the world – in Germany, amongst others, at Hologate World in the FLAIR shopping center in Fürth, which opened at the end of last year (see cover story in EAP 1/22).
