Germany: Centro Oberhausen Becomes Westfield Centro As of September
The Centro Oberhausen shopping centre, which is part of the destination portfolio of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (UWR), will become “Westfield Oberhausen“ as of September 2021 and therefore one of the company’s flagship centres in Europe. With offerings such as events, concerts, brand cooperation and experiences the Centro aims at keeping the visitor experience at a high level. “The rebranding combines the extraordinary history of this traditional location in the heart of the vibrant Ruhr area and the strength of the international Westfield brand […]“ says Andreas Hohlmann, Managing Director at URW Austria and Germany.
“We are proud to be the first and currently only centre in Germany to bear the name Westfield. It is now mentioned in the same category as the best centres in Paris or Barcelona. At the same time, however, the local and regional identity remains. It offers clear added value for our tenants and guests ad will help us lead Westfield Centro into a successful future,“ comments Marcus Remark, Center Manager of Centro Oberhausen. With the “Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier“, another German Westfield location is scheduled to open in 2023 (see EAP news of 27 May 2021). (eap)
