Germany: GaLaBau 2022 – Successful Industry Get-together for Landscape and Open Space Designers in Nuremberg

GaLaBau was held again in the halls of NürnbergMesse (Exhibition Centre Nuremberg) from September 14 to 17, for the first time in four years. According to the official numbers of NürnbergMesse, the 24^th edition of the regularly biennial international trade fair for gardening, landscaping and open space design can be assessed as thoroughly positive: A total of 1,102 exhibitors from 33 countries (2018: 1,253 exhibitors) presented their innovations and trendsetting solutions for planning, building and maintenance with greenery in 14 exhibition halls. In addition to numerous companies from Germany (834), many exhibitors came from the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Poland and France. Around 93 percent of exhibitors rated the overall success of the four-day event as positive and reached their most important target groups; around 90 percent expect brisk follow-up business. Around 62,000 visitors from 76 countries attended GaLaBau, including decision-makers and employees from gardening and landscaping companies, representatives from local authorities, landscape architects and specialist dealers in power tools. According to NürnbergMesse, the proportion of decision-makers was around 80 per cent. The supporting program for the four-day trade fair was also well received by the exhibition participants, especially offerings such as the “Digitalization@GaLaBau” forum with more than 30 lectures and expert panels, the special show “Playgrounds are system-relevant!” in Hall 1 and the E-Mobility Area on the outdoor exhibition grounds.

Trade fair visitors want to compare and try out machines and equipment and see them live in action – after all, GaLaBau has always been a trade fair with an active character that you can only experience in-person and on the spot. Exhibitors stressed the quality of the conversations, the high level of decision-making skills and the specific purchasing intentions of the visitors. The next GaLaBau will take place in its normal sequence from 11 to 14 September 2024 in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. (eap)
