Germany: Hansa-Park Announces Numerous Novelties for Anniversary Season 2022
Hansa-Park will turn 45 years old in 2022 – reason enough to plan a series of new attractions for visitors, only shortly after the opening of the new children’s area “Awildas Welt” this summer (c.f. our report in the latest EAP issue here). As a preview to the anniversary season, Hansa-Park now announced the first construction phase of the new themed world “Peterhof von Novgorod”, also designed for children, which is to be built directly next to the log flume ride “Der Wasserwolf am Ilmensee”. There will be two attractions in the new area: The interactive “Tower of Peterhof”, where guests from 105 cm tall (accompanied by an adult) can pull themselves up to a height of seven metres, and the new carousel “The Animal Children of Peterhof” with more than 20 lovingly designed, handmade animal child figures inviting visitors to take a ride. There will also be space for a wheelchair rider on the carousel.
Also new will be the indoor play paradise “Pirate Camp” behind the historic facades of Riga and Stralsund. The former “Kiddie Camp” has been given a new pirate theme and will feature three new kiddie rides that can be used up to a maximum body height of 120 cm. In addition, the 9th construction phase of the “HANSE in EUROPA” theme world will be realized in 2022: Among other things, the “Fleet Schlösschen” building of Hamburg’s Speicherstadt and a Hanseatic cog will be recreated, the latter as a giant play ship in the “Landungsbrücken” area. The existing restaurant there will be converted and reopened as a modern family restaurant under the name of “Weltumsegler” (Eng.: “Circumnavigator”). Elsewhere in the park, on the “Plaza del Mar”, a new inclusion playground called “Patio del Mar” will be built, which can be used by children with and without disabilities. Last but not least, a new family film is planned for the park’s 4D cinema and a laser show in the “Arena del Mar”. (eap)
