Germany: Kernie’s Family Park to Open Two New Attractions in 2016
On time with the start of its new season, Germany’s Kernie’s Family Park at Wunderland Kalkar, located in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, will open its new “Atlantis” ride at the Easter weekend. The 32 meter high HUSS Condor will offer riding fun for all passengers with a minimum height of 1.30 meters. Featuring 28 gondolas, Atlantis will provide space for up to 56 passengers at the same time. Furthermore, the park announced its plans for the opening of a “carpet slide”, delivered by Metallbau Emmeln, in the course of the next season. Starting at a height of eleven meters, the guests will slide down four 45 meters long, wavy tracks.
Apart from the two new attractions visitors can look forward to the park’s classic rides such as the 58 meter high Vertical Swing, the mini Ferris wheel as well as the roller coaster and whitewater ride. As usual, the park will offer its guests a diverse event program this year. The event highlights include an Easter egg hunt, the celebrations on the occasion of the park’s 15th anniversary on April 24 and “Kernie’s long summer days” during the holiday period. (eap)
