Germany: Nettebad Osnabrueck Opens New „Twist“ Funnel Slide
This past Saturday, Germany’s Nettebad Osnabrueck officially opened its new “Twist” funnel slide (c.f. EAP news from October 28th, 2016), after it has been successfully approved by German TÜV inspection at the second attempt. Due to its steep starting section with a height of 13.50 meters, sliders increase quickly in speed before arriving in the eight meter wide funnel – at the first inspection by TÜV a few weeks ago, testing persons were too fast in pace. Wolfgang Hermle, Head of the bathing complex, explained: “[…] To ensure the sliders’ safety we added a ‘crash barrier’ to the funnel after its first inspection,” he said.
Thanks to the barrier, the sliders’ centrifugal force is controlled in a better way. Furthermore, the bathing complex readjusted “Twist’s” projection technology so that bathing guests can now interact with the projected underwater world in an optimized way. (eap)
