Germany: New Nature Experience Garden Expands Visitor Offerings at skywalk allgäu
The skywalk allgäu nature experience park located in Scheidegg (Bavaria) offers its visitors a new educational experience around the topic of “bees“ starting next Saturday (May 21). The “Nature Experience Garden – Bees and Blossoms in the Course of the Year“ is intended to bring guests closer to the world of honey bees and wild bees, and to answer interesting questions, such as “What types of bees are there?“, “What do bees need to survive?“, “Which plants are important to bees and when do they bloom?“ or “How can you turn your own garden into a bee oasis?“
On this topic, the approximately 1,500-square-meter garden, which is freely accessible in front of the gates of the park, offers numerous information panels designed like a picture book, where children can accompany the bee “Wipfeline“ on her adventures with other insects and birds. In addition, the garden is equipped with interactive elements such as a model hive with removable honeycombs, the “nature and humanity in balance“ balancing course and a “honey bucket“ that is supposed to represent how much bees can carry compared to their body weight. As operations manager Alexander Unold told us, the plan is to make the garden accessible for guests all year round. “However, since there is still ‘real‘ winter with lots of snow in the Allgäu region, there may be weeks when the garden will be closed,“ he explained.
