Germany: Spreewelten Pool Opens Own Theme Hotel Today
In early December of last year, Germany’s Spreewelten bathing & swimming pool complex, located in Lübbenau, celebrated its re-opening after extensive renovation works – with new penguin storytelling, interactive waterslides and much more (read our comprehensive feature story on this in our March/April issue, which will be published today). As from today, visitors will be able to stay overnight in the belonging Spreewelten Hotel, which was newly built for a total of eleven million euros.
Not only the waterpark but also the hotel has been designed with a Spreewald theming. For the official opening ceremony on 22 February together with important business partners, the new hotel was awarded the four-star quality certificate by DEHOGA. Currently 60 percent of guests who want to stay in Lübbenau overnight are hosted by private homestays. Equipped with 60 apartment rooms, the new hotel, which is located directly adjacent to the water park, complements the existing accommodation offer of the city. The hotel starts into operation today with an occupancy rate of already 60 percent. (eap)
