Germany: Upside Down – New Visitor Attraction Planned for Bostalsee

At Germany‘s Bostalsee, more precisely at the “Surfbasis“ on the Gonnersweiler lakeshore about 400 metres away from Center Parcs Bostalsee, a new visitor attraction is being developed with “Das Haus steht Kopf“ (Engl.: “The house is upside down“), packed with numerous illusions and curiosities. “It is kind of a museum – but anything but dusty! It is a place of illusion. With the ceiling under your feet and the floor above your head, the world is turned upside down. The only thing that is not turned upside down is the outside staircase that leads to the attic, which realistically serves as the ground floor entrance. Inside, things get really confusing. Sofas, kitchen furniture, potted plants and paintings are all reversed in this upside-down world and hang above you while you are standing on the ceiling,“ explains Pascal Peter, co-investor of the newly founded company Lake Mountain Leisure GmbH, which is investing around 600,000 Euros into the new attraction. Its scheduled to open this summer. (eap)
