(eap) Last weekend, the Swedish amusement park Gröna Lund opened its gates for its 142nd season with several new attractions. The biggest novelty is “Pumpen”, a Super Swing (by RES Rides) that promises fun for the whole family. “Pumpen” is located in the children’s area “Lilla Området” and has a height of twelve meters as well as two gondolas with ten seats each, allowing 20 people per ride. Children from the age of four and a height of 95 cm can ride accompanied by an adult, while children from the age of six and a height of 120 cm can ride unaccompanied. The attraction was designed in the style of an industrial water pump, inspired by a former building in the park.

In addition to the new attraction, guests can look forward to the fluffy and curious “Gnuttarna”. These white-haired characters, which originate from the Swedish children’s comic series by Lars Mortimer from the 1980s, are set to bring a lot of fun to the park with their own attractions and a new play. In a show on the “Lilla Scen”, visitors will experience the adventures of “Kärleks-Gnutten”, “Hunger-Gnutten”, “Super-Gnutten” and “Gammel-Gnutten”. The play was written by Nassim Al Fakir, a Swedish children’s book author. Off stage, the Gnuttarna have their own game, a prize wheel, a candy stand and a restaurant where Hunger-Gnutten serves pancakes and baked potatoes with various side dishes.

For music lovers, Gröna Lund is offering a program of over 50 concerts this year. In addition, dance fans can look forward to a total of 34 dance evenings featuring everything from salsa to bachata to traditional dance bands.
