Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Leisure Complex with “Vertical Water Park” in China
In the Chinese province of Zhejiang, the new Zhejiang Wave Town leisure resort is under development, that will include hot springs facilities, hotels and a shopping mall. Ground was recently broken for this major construction project. The highlight of the future destination is to be a “vertical” water park with a total of twelve slides starting from six different platforms – the top platform will reach a height of around 100 meters!
WhiteWater West has been commissioned with the manufacture and supply of the slides, which include a 500-meter Flatline Loop. In addition, the slide complex or “vertical” water park will have a futuristic design. It is expected to welcome up to 1.2 million visitors annually. In total, the RMB 2 billion (about EUR 260 million) new leisure resort is to cover an area of more than 28 hectares. (eap)
