Happy Birthday! 150 Years of Herborner Pumpen

(eap) Herborner Pumpen, based in Herborn in central Hesse and now run by the fifth generation of the owner family, is celebrating its 150^th anniversary this year. To mark the “big birthday”, the official anniversary celebrations were recently held with all employees and invited guests to celebrate the company’s long history in a worthy manner. Founded in 1874, Herborner Pumpen is now one of the international market leaders in high-quality pump solutions for the manufacturing sector, waste water treatment, cargo and cruise ships, as well as for swimming pools and water parks. “It was a unique experience to celebrate this anniversary together with our customers, employees and friends. During our anniversary week, we were able to toast the successes of recent years together and celebrate long-standing partnerships,” emphasized Wolfram Kuhn, Managing Director of Herborner Pumpen, who is supported in the management by Susanne Jung and Sascha Korupp. With daughter Svenja Kuhn, the sixth generation is already active in the family business as well – currently with management responsibility in the position of Head of Controlling and Finance.

The certified pump hydraulics, innovative coating solutions such as “HPC” (“Herborner Pump Coating”, read also our article on corrosion protection for pump solutions in EAP 1/22) and the smart control and monitoring applications such as the cloud-based platform “HP.MIND” (see EAP 3/21) from Herborner can be found in numerous adventure pools and water parks. The “flagship” references in German-speaking countries include Europa-Park Resort’s Rulantica water world. Customers and industry professionals can meet the experienced Herborner team as frequent exhibitors at various international trade fairs (e.g. the global IAAPA Expos and interbad in Stuttgart). With promotions such as (delicious) marzipan pumps and other sweet works of art made to customer wishes or with an entertaining comedy program by brand ambassador “Bademeister Schaluppke” (“Lifeguard Schaluppke”), the company knows how to inspire booth visitors who are convinced by the pump solutions time and again with special commitment and creativity.

The supplier aims to remain a pioneer in the development of high-quality pump hydraulics in the future – to this end, the in-house R&D department also works with digital manufacturing technologies, CAM and 3D printing processes, among other things, in order to guarantee the globally recognized quality standards. In addition to its headquarters in Hesse, Herborner Pumpen is represented by a branch in the USA and by trading partners worldwide. ■
