(eap) The holiday and leisure park Weissenhäuser Strand at Germany’s Baltic Sea coast (Hohwachter Bucht, between Kiel and the island of Fehmarn) is a popular destination for vacationers in Northern Germany with its extensive sports, adventure, wellness and accommodation facilities. To stay overnight, guests can choose between holiday apartments, vacation homes, penthouses and a four-star hotel. In addition to the white sandy beach, the resort also offers weather-proof recreational fun for young and old all year round – in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise, with the water ski and wakeboard facility, the Adventure Jungle Land (see EAP 2/2010 & 5/2014) and many other offers. A variety of dining options with several restaurants rounds out the experience.

Earlier this month, the vacation destination celebrated its 50th anniversary – with around 200 invited guests, including Schleswig-Holstein’s Minister of Economic Affairs Claus Ruhe Madsen, the District Administrator of Ostholstein, Timo Gaarz and Guido Zöllick, President of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA). The new pier, which served as the location for the celebrations, was officially inaugurated on this occasion. ■
