IKONO: New Experience Exhibition in Berlin
(eap) In the heart of Berlin, directly at Alexanderplatz, the Spanish company IKONO has opened its largest experiential exhibition space to date. Covering an area of 1,000 square metres, IKONO Berlin invites visitors to discover 14 rooms that combine art, play and “the unexpected”. Some of the interactive spaces were created in collaboration with international artists Ricardo Cavolo, Ishita Banerjee and Heather Bellino.
“Ikono is not only about creating unforgettable and memorable moments, but also about feeling and experiencing the unexpected that takes us out of our comfort zone. People today are drawn to experiences that arouse intense emotions, be it through seeing, looking or feeling in different places that allow us to connect with ourselves and discover the extent of our creativity,” emphasises Fernando Pastor, co-founder and CEO of Ikono.
For example, there is the “Light Cube” room, in which dynamic light cube installations display different colours with hypnotic effects. The mixture of colour, sound and movement is intended to encourage visitors to engage all their senses and be present in the moment. In the “Retro Games Hall”, on the other hand, visitors can immerse themselves in the 90s and duel on gaming machines.
Ikono was founded in 2020 by Pastor and David Troya (Creative Director) and is home in six other major European cities (Rome, Budapest, Vienna, Madrid, Barcelona and Copenhagen) besides Berlin. ■
