Lappset Creative Develops “Moomin”-Themed Activity Parks & Playground Equipment

Lappset Creative (a business unit of Finish Lappset Group, specialized in the development and design of themed attractions) and Sweden’s Bulls Press international media company (licensing holder of the “Moomins” out of Tove Jansson’s book series) have recently entered into a cooperation agreement to develop Moomin-themed activity parks and a playground collection.

While the Moomin activity parks will solely be available on selected non-European markets since Finland’s “Moominworld” theme park, which was opened back in 1993 in Naantali/island of Kailo and welcomed around 200,000 visitors in 2018 (cf. EAP 2/19), holds the exclusive rights to build Moomin theme parks within Europe, the playground equipment collection will form part of Lappset’s global portfolio of standard products.

“The Moomins are great Finnish icons that are based on art and books. Moomins have been making children happy since 1945. Their long history and environment, adventure, friendship and love are values that go hand-in-hand with Lappset’s own values […],” says Miia Tähtinen, China Country Manager for Lappset Creative. Main criteria for the development of Moomin-themed attractions are aspects such as safety, learning and community spirit. (eap)
