Legoland Deutschland Resort – Novelties 2016
On March 19, Legoland Deutschland Resort, located in the city of Günzburg, started into its 2016 season, offering several novelties this year. The new MINILAND “High Five” area features five of the world’s highest skyscrapers built from more than 400,000 Lego bricks at a scale of 1:150. One of the building highlights here is the 5.5-meter high Burj Khalifa, which in the original measures 828 meters. Apart from the High Five buildings, the area also includes Lego versions of the Eiffel tower and the Lego observation tower.
On time with the season opening, “The LEGO Movie™ 4D A New Adventure” celebrated its German premiere at Legoland. Featuring elements such as wind, water and snow as well as special light effects, the movie is a real adventure for all visitors. Another 4-D movie, which is based on Lego's new “Lego Nexo Nights™” product line, will debut in June this year.
Furthermore, the park increased its accommodation capacities to 2,090 guests per night. The new “Drachenburg” (Engl. "Dragon Castle") offers 34 additional family rooms. Besides, there are 25 new, wilderness-themed camping barrels including a sleeping and a living area (cf. EAP, issue 2/2016). A new concept was introduced at the park’s “STARS Grill House” restaurant: Guests now have the possibility to dine side by side with their Lego stars while 3-D animations are running on six projection tables.
