Leipzig Zoo to Host the EAZA 2024 Next Week
(eap) The annual conference of the EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria), the membership organization of the leading zoos and aquariums in Europe, will take place next week from 8 to 12 October at Leipzig Zoo. In addition to networking events and workshops, the event will focus on a scientific program. Participants will address issues such as biodiversity, species protection and animal husbandry and try to find new solutions. This year’s workshops will include “Trailblazing Trainers” and “Quality of Life Assessment” (QoL). While the former is aimed at all participants who want to gain an understanding of force-free animal training and how it can be used to improve animal welfare, the latter aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the QoL process and how it can influence positive changes in the welfare of various animal species.
