Light Installations in Zoos Continue to Fascinate…
(eap) Artistic light installations can not only bathe the Christmas season in a warm atmosphere, but can also last throughout the whole winter... Anyone who decides to visit a zoo on these cold and predominantly dark days can discover all kinds of illuminated sculptures and objects in numerous animal parks alongside their “real” inhabitants.

Rostock Zoo is now running its “ZooLichtZauber” for the first time – a format that transforms the newer part of the zoo into an atmospherically illuminated winter landscape. In collaboration with the company World of Lights, various installations have been created based on light and laser technology as well as fog effects. Animatronic wild animal figures can also be admired. The zoo highlights the Hydro Shield – a 20 x 6 meter water projection with artistic light installations. A nocturnal walk through the “Darwineum” exhibition is also part of the special program, which is offered from Thursdays to Sundays through 2nd March this year.

The day-night light cycle is also simulated in the “Gondwanaland” tropical adventure world. Visitors can enjoy the spectacle until February 9 – also every Thursday to Sunday. ■
