Longest Zip Line of Germany Opened in the Harz region

At the end of last year Germany’s longest zip line with a length of 1,000 meters was opened at the Rappbodetalsperre (Rappbode Dam) near Elbingerode. Thrill-seekers can reach speeds up to 80 km/h while flying through the air over tree tops and the water. More precisely, the new attraction is a double zip line what means that two persons can be positioned head-first in prone position and with the help of a rope roll can float along the cable rope to the landing point located 120 meters lower at the other end of the damming lake. The overall planning and project management has been carried out by the German hochkant GmbH. The starting tower of the zip line was designed to enable the addition of further attractions in the future. (eap)
