Major Investment for New Indoor Water Park in Québec
(eap) In the city of Mirabel in the south-west of the Canadian province of Québec, a new leisure resort including a large indoor water park is to be built with an investment volume of 175 to 200 million dollars to boost tourism in the region. The investor behind the project is Ray Junior Courtemanche and his company Investissement Ray Junior. Construction work is scheduled to begin in summer 2026. The first phase, which includes the indoor water park and one of two planned hotels, is scheduled for completion in mid-2028.
Specifically, a multifunctional building complex with more than 20 water attractions – including a water coaster and a lazy river –, two hotels, a 1,500-seat event hall and a 6,500 square meter convention center are planned. According to the plans, one of the two hotels will also have panoramic reception halls (on the 14th floor) for large events. Restaurants and stores, rooms for beauty and spa treatments and a fast food zone will round off the leisure facilities. ■
